Ribbit Ribbit=Successful Weekend!

I wish I could add another day to the weekend, especially this one. It was quite exhausting but one for the memory book.

Friday it started off by having one of our friends daughter over for the night. I had to work the closing shift at the liquor store so Pat was in charge of her for the 4 hours I was gone. He had one of his friends over too. So while I was working they played Wii from 6:30 till I got home. When I got home we played more Wii lets say till 3:30 in the morning! We haven't stayed up that late since college. I forgot what it was like and then had to get up early to go to DQ and decorate some cakes. That was a tough one.

Saturday got up and went to DQ and decorated some cakes. Then headed to the Bait Bucket and got some frog spears. Let me tell you the Bait Bucket isn't like any ordinary bait shop. I went there with a body guard. These guys will sit in there with no shirt on and be smoking and talking with the few teeth they have. Then to smell that place. You can pretty much smell it from the corner of the street. It is pretty quality. I got home and took the child to the pool and we swam for a bit and then headed to the house to get ready to take her home. We went to Hutchinson and had some grub. And the grub was one of the best meals I have had in awhile. Went to the Dutch Kitchen. Oh so good! We dropped her off and went and had some beers with some friends at the Rusty Needle. Used to be an old Tattoo Parlor. Then we headed home for one of the best nights. We went frog hunting. In season from July 1st thru end of October! Walking thru water that stunk so bad hoping you don't touch a snake or a beaver. Spearing frogs was so much fun. Not sure if i had more fun getting the frogs or drinking beer. This was another night that we stayed out till 3:30 in the morning. Wow two nights in a row. But let me tell you we are feeling it today and its only Monday and th beginning of the week.

Sunday was R & R day. I went and helped cleaned the frogs and did laundry all day. Friends of ours on in Sturgis so we are taking care of the pool so had to check that too. This weekend was for the record books. So excited to go on our next frog hunt. But in a couple of weeks let the Dove hunting begin! So excited to be hunting again and shooting a gun!

Here are some pics from a couple of weekends ago. The heat has been so bad that the only way to beat it was to swim!

To My Blog Followers...Just for Karen!

Well Pat and I made a recent trip back to the "GREAT" state of Minnesota and well we had an awesome time despite the blood sucking misquitos! The trip really started Wednesday night when I had to go pick up a puppy for my dad's fathers day (yes I know a lil late but it was worth it) slash birthday gift. Then it was an early morning with hardly any sleep from a puppy that whines all night. We got on the road and started the adventure. We thought it was going to be a complete nightmare with the pup being locked up in a kennel for 9 hours and 2 other dogs roaming around in the car. Yes...9 hours. Don't worry we stopped and a let the kiddos out and they did they duty and got to stretch their legs! But actually the pup was awesome. He slept the whole way. Dad decided to name him Percy. When he first started to looking for a pup he found one down in Oklahoma in the town of Percy. So he thought it was just right. But I got the pup in a small town near Hutchinson Kansas. Thursday night didn't bring too much just went to bed early from all the driving and had tee times in the morning early. Man we slept good though. Friday brought golf, rain, golf, and fair, and well of course beer! It was really good to see some old friends. It has been a year since I have been back to Sota. I think it needs to change or some of you need to start to make a trip and see us! Saturday we played in a 3 person Big Cup Scramble. We didn't do as good as we thought we were going to do. But we did have a blast. Then Sunday came and it was back to Kansas we go. Atleast we got to sleep in on Sunday and still made it back home at 9:30. I thought it was going to be a lot later than that.

Some other things that have happened in the past two months. Wow two months I haven't written. I will do a better job at it. In May went to Kansas City for a wedding and of course that was a good time. June we played in a bunch of golf tournaments and the 4th was at our house this year and wowzers was that a show. Probally one of the best home shows I have ever seen. Some friends of ours spent thousands of dollars on fireworks and the show lasted about 45 mins to an hour. To all the Waseca folks it beats it hands down!

Otherwise thats all I got for now. I will do my darnest to keep up with this thing. We have no internet at the house so it makes things a lil difficult. But hope everyone is doing well!

Update Time!!!

Last Friday was a pretty exciting day for us...well I think I was more excited than Pat was. We got to see the Budweiser Clydesdales! I was pretty pumped! I have never seen them before and I heard that are just beautiful and beautiful they were! It was amazing the time that they put into the horses. There was three semi's for the occasion. Two were for the horses and the other one had the carriage in it. When they brought the carriage out they started to polish it. Let me tell you they put a lot of pride into it. Then they brought out one horse at a time and walked them around and primped and pampered them. It took about an hour to get them all hooked up and on their way. I mean these horses were HUGE! I think I want one. I don't want a regular house I want a clydesdale. I am dreaming big here. Oh well.

Last Thursday I took the scooter out for a ride. Well I thought it was nice enough but I guess not. I woke up Friday and had a sore throat and had the sexy man voice. I took some medicine over the weekend and I was hoping for it to go away. Well it didn't. Sunday we played in a three person scramble and I all I could do when I was talking is just squeek. Yesterday I came home from work early and layed down and took some more medicine. Well when Pat got home I could barely talk. So to the doctor I went today! Not a fun trip. He thinks I am having some allergy issues but I think it is more than that. He told me to put basically snort salt water in one nostril and let it down out of the other one. But I am not having issues with my nose. I am not stuffed up or head congestion. I have a sore throat buddy and I can barely talk. Don't think it is allergies. But anyways he gave me an antibotic and I hope it goes away soon! The weather is starting to get nice and I don't want to be inside with a darn cold.

Otherwise things at the house are going well. May is just around the corner and my work will be getting really busy. And then after May it is summer time and who knows what it will bring!

Back to Normal...Kind of???

I wish I could say that things are back to normal but I don't know if that is all true or not. I mean I just finished up getting all caught up with laundry. Yes I know it has been a month already since we have been back and I am FINALLY caught up. I hate laundry with a passion. I wish they would just clean themselves. Then to get the house back to normal is always a never ending chore. Is there a free housekeeper out there looking for something to do???

I think Spring is finally here! Yes, even though Sunday is officially the first day of Spring I really truly think it is here. Wednesday and Thursday is suppose to be in the 70's, upper 70's to be exact. (Sorry for you folks up in Minnesota...Is the snow gonna yet? He he) But if spring is here does that mean Spring Cleaning needs to start? Pat came in the house today and said we are going to do some spring cleaning this weekend. I am not going to count on that one. If it is nice out, I know exactly where we both will be...GOLFING! And that just makes things even worse. Nothing ever gets done when golfing season is here. URG! I can never just get caught up. Oh well. If I wasn't on here I would be getting stuff done. I just need to get on here and let some thoughts out of my head.

Here is a thought for the day that struck my mind:

September 11th: New York
January 11th: Haiti
March 11th: Japan

Otherwise things are great down here in Kansas. Hope everyone has a great week!

Kia Ora!

So we are finally back from the trip. No worries we were 300 miles away from the earthquake and we were back in the states when it happened. Thank goodness! The trip was amazing. Pictures don't do justice. It was one of those trips where you had to take everything in. We met some amazing people that made us feel so welcomed to Edward Jones. Noone ever made us feel out of placed. It was one of those vacations where we did something everyday. The first day we were there was a lil tough. We were told to keep ourselves awake and make sure we get out and do something so the day wasn't wasted. We unpacked our clothes and just checked out the resort. The second day we went on a Dart River Safari. That was alot of fun. We took a van out in the woods and our tour guide told us about the area and stopped for some unbelievable photo opportunities. The third day we got of round of golf in. Yes we had to golf and we even got some sun. New Zealand has a hole in the ozone and it is about a 8 to 10 minute burn time so Pat got pretty red and well I got red then it turned to a nice tan. I was pretty happy. The fourth day was the best day by far. We went and took a gondola to a top of a mountain and we went on the Luge. (http://www.skyline.co.nz/) The website will give you a better idea of what we did. After the Luge we went on a Shot Over Jet boat ride. It was basically a boat that goes 80 mph and does 360's and takes sharp turns through a river. It was so awesome. The scenery was breath taking. (http://www.shotoverjet.com/) Then it was off to white water rafting! The bus ride alone made the money worth it! We had to take the 7th most dangerous road in the world! Of course I sat by the window because I wanted to look at the scenery. Well bad idea. I got pretty queezy. We were on a one way road and when you look out the window it was like looking at death. It was a 100 meter drop to the bottom and it wasn't a tumble down to the bottom it was a free fall. Some places in the road was 200 to 300 meter drop. Oh boy was it scary. Luckily the pants stayed dried! (http://www.queenstownrafting.co.nz/) Finally the last day was just relaxing and shopping of course and then there was a farewell dinner that night.

The experience was amazing. We are so glad that we choose this trip to go on. But we have been back a week and it has been a lil crazy around the house. Trying to get back on schedule with sleeping. We had Toby neutured while we were gone and well he had a bad reaction to the surgery and he is all swollen. We had to make an emerency visit to the Vet in Hutch and then take him to the Vet in Sterling. He had to stay overnight one night this week and taking four different pills in the morning and two pills at night. I feel like he is a drug addict. Otherwise as it is Sunday we are back on schedule, Toby is doing better but still a little swollen. We are glad to be back and we can relax.

Tan Lines!

As promised I said I would show Brutus with a tan. You have to look at picture pretty closely to see the tan line but it is there. It is pretty amazing. I am jealous I guess because it is winter time and the dog is laying in the sun and he is getting a tan.

All I can do right now is think about getting a tan line because it is snowing pretty good right now and I feel like I am trapped in the house. I have no snowmobile to go out and enjoy all this pretty white stuff. All I can do right now is pack for our trip and watch daytime TV...Which is pretty boring. Days like these make me miss home. I miss going snowmobiling and ice fishing. The snow is taller than Brutus! Poor dog can't even go outside and find a spot to go to the bathroom. But then again he needs to suck it up and just go! Toby loves it! He goes into crazy mode and runs everywhere! Oh my boys! Gotta love them!

Who would of Thunk It???

So it was bath day for the dogs the other day and I looked at Brutus's stomach and well I thought it was really dirty but after the bath I come to find out that he has got a tan going on! Are you kidding me. Who would of thought that a dog can tan! I mean I scrubbed his tummy and used soap twice on it and when I was drying him off I noticed that he has a tan line around his neck! Yes a tan line from his collar! When we get home for our lunch break, we let them outside to do their business he comes inside and finds his spot in the sun and lays there during our lunch break. It is the craziest thing in the world. Pat didn't even know that a dog could tan. Yesterday I did notice that he is getting darker. Oh Brutus!

Pictures to come.
