So we are finally back from the trip. No worries we were 300 miles away from the earthquake and we were back in the states when it happened. Thank goodness! The trip was amazing. Pictures don't do justice. It was one of those trips where you had to take everything in. We met some amazing people that made us feel so welcomed to Edward Jones. Noone ever made us feel out of placed. It was one of those vacations where we did something everyday. The first day we were there was a lil tough. We were told to keep ourselves awake and make sure we get out and do something so the day wasn't wasted. We unpacked our clothes and just checked out the resort. The second day we went on a Dart River Safari. That was alot of fun. We took a van out in the woods and our tour guide told us about the area and stopped for some unbelievable photo opportunities. The third day we got of round of golf in. Yes we had to golf and we even got some sun. New Zealand has a hole in the ozone and it is about a 8 to 10 minute burn time so Pat got pretty red and well I got red then it turned to a nice tan. I was pretty happy. The fourth day was the best day by far. We went and took a gondola to a top of a mountain and we went on the Luge. (http://www.skyline.co.nz/) The website will give you a better idea of what we did. After the Luge we went on a Shot Over Jet boat ride. It was basically a boat that goes 80 mph and does 360's and takes sharp turns through a river. It was so awesome. The scenery was breath taking. (http://www.shotoverjet.com/) Then it was off to white water rafting! The bus ride alone made the money worth it! We had to take the 7th most dangerous road in the world! Of course I sat by the window because I wanted to look at the scenery. Well bad idea. I got pretty queezy. We were on a one way road and when you look out the window it was like looking at death. It was a 100 meter drop to the bottom and it wasn't a tumble down to the bottom it was a free fall. Some places in the road was 200 to 300 meter drop. Oh boy was it scary. Luckily the pants stayed dried! (http://www.queenstownrafting.co.nz/) Finally the last day was just relaxing and shopping of course and then there was a farewell dinner that night.
The experience was amazing. We are so glad that we choose this trip to go on. But we have been back a week and it has been a lil crazy around the house. Trying to get back on schedule with sleeping. We had Toby neutured while we were gone and well he had a bad reaction to the surgery and he is all swollen. We had to make an emerency visit to the Vet in Hutch and then take him to the Vet in Sterling. He had to stay overnight one night this week and taking four different pills in the morning and two pills at night. I feel like he is a drug addict. Otherwise as it is Sunday we are back on schedule, Toby is doing better but still a little swollen. We are glad to be back and we can relax.
